25th County of London Cyclist Battalion
The London Regiment

 Arthur Boville CARPENTER

The following photos were bought by Russell Ridout on Ebay in 2017. They were from an album and was named as Capt. Carpenter, which is presumed to be Arthur Boville Carpenter.

Arthur Boville Carpenter was born in 31 March 1888 in Tottenham, the son of Arthur Caleb Carpenter, a law clerk, and his wife Mary Alice (nee Collins).

In the 1911 census Arthur is living with his parents and is also a law clerk like his father.

He served in the 2/25th line of the battalion, but was attached to the 4th London Rgt. and served in France, where he may well have been wounded as his medal card shows that he applied for the Silver War Badge which was rejected.

His medal card shows that he served in France, but the additional information that he was attached to the 4th London Rgt. was recorded on the Officer's medal rolls for the 25th London Bn.

In 1933 he married Beatrice Lavinia Levasseur. They are both listed in the 1939 register at 33 Cranbourne Drive, Pinner, Middlesex. He is listed as a solicitor.

He died in Pinner in 1971. There does not appear to be any children from the marriage.
