Albert was born in Islington in 1893, the son of Albert Walter Allam and Ellen Sarah (nee Holt). His father was a Postman.

Son of Mr. A. W. Allam, I.S.M., and Mrs. E. S. Allam, of Great Thurlow, Haverhill, Suffolk. Native of Islington, London.
