George Henry STEVENS |
There is no record of George serving in the 25th London Bn. other than his marriage certificate :-
There is no identifiable medal card or surviving service record for George in the 25th Londons. This could mean that George served in the 2/25th or 3/35th and as such didn't serve overseas during the war. Or that he was transferred along with other soldiers of the 2 & 3/25th to another battalion such as the 7th London, for which a medal card does exist for a George H. Stevens. However there were numerous transfers from the 2 & 3/25th to other battalions during the war so it is hard to positively say. George was born on the 6 Dec 1890 in Dorking, Surrey, the son of George Henry Stevens, a miller, and Maria (nee Simms). Acknowledgements - Ancestry.co.uk |
