Stanley George Bloomfield was born on the the 27th of February 1898 in Westminster, London. He was the son of John, a fancy goods packer and Jessie Amelia (nee Knowles).

Stanley enlisted in the 25th London Bn on the 30th of November 1914 at the age of 16. He was posted to France / Flanders with the 25th Londons from 11 Nov to the 15 Nov 1917, just 4 days, before being posted to the 12th Rifle Bn. from the 16 Nov 1917 to the 27 Feb 1918. [25th London Medal Roll - B roll, sheet 59]. However it appears from the medal roll & disembodiment paper that he was never formally transferred but only attached to the 12th Rifle Bn.

He subsequently married Lilian Emily Smith in June 1925 in Fulham. They had 3 children.

He worked for Watney Coombe Reid & Co, Brewers in London from May 1920 until 28 Feb 1958. During WW2 he was an Air Raid Precautions warden with the Stag Brewery, Pimlico.

He and his wife emigrated to Australia leaving England on the 29 Apr 1958 per the Strathnaver.

Stanley died on the 8th of August 1967 in Hobart, Tasmania and was cremated and interred in the Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart.
