Angus Stewart ADAMS

Angus Adams was the son of Alexander Adams, an actor / comedian, and Joanna Blake, an actress / comedian. He was born on the 27 March 1882 in Glasgow, Scotland. Like his parents Angus was also an actor / comedian.

His early life was spent travelling around the UK and America taking roles in a variety of stage productions. He enlisted in 1916 and was wounded in Passenchdale in 1917. In 1920 he married and had two daughters. His acting career continued after the war. He wrote a book with Walter Paskin called “Barbed Wire”, which was based on his wartime experiences. In 1928 the book was produced and performed as a musical. Angus did not make the “big time”, but he played in enough productions to provide well for his family. After his wife died in 1956, he remarried and died in 1961.
