Frederick William SEAR


Frederick William Sear was born in 1896 in Acton, Middlesex, the son of Frederick Edward Sear, a grocer shop assistant, and Emily Matilda (nee Stanford). He served in the 1/25th London Cyclist Regt., joining the regiment in late 1914. He served in India and contracted Malaria ,( most likely in the Waziristan campaign in 1917).

He met my Grandmother Lily (Lilian) Maud Edmonds when he was posted to Lowestoft and they married on the 21st Nov 1920 in St. Margaret's Lowestoft, Suffolk. They had 3 children. He was a painter & decorator by trade and worked for various local firms. Frederick died in 1951 in Lowestoft Hospital aged 55.
