Henry Shannon BRADLEY

 

Henry Shannon Bradley was born in 1897 in Brixton, the son of  Patrick Shannon Bradley, a Civil Service Clerk in the Home Office, and Lottie Louisa (nee Cope). In 1922 he married Lilian Wall Munday. A divorce application was lodged in 1928 [TNAJ77/2497/7825]. He died in 1936.

Enlisted (variously) 30 or 31 Aug 14 at Fulham House, Putney (refer Pension Record), the home of the 25th London Bn. Apart from that reference the only other indication that he was in the 25th is a postcard :-

             - 10th Reserve London Battalion (Hackney Rifles) listed no. struck through, variations on 8235. (Concurs with August 1916 amalgamation of 3/25th)
             - 24 Oct 16 - Compulsory transfer to 1/7th (Shiny) London's  no. 345343 (embarked to Le Harve same day) where he served as Btn Bomber.
             - 5 Feb 1918 - Transfer to Royal Army Medical Corp - no.508603
Served Belgium from Nov 1916 to 21 Jun 1917.
Disability - 29/5/17 - Trench fever related 'leg wasting'. Less than 20%
Disembodied 12 Mar 1919, Discharged 18 Mar 1919.
Addresses - 59 Trent Road and 8 Angel Park Gardens - both Brixton.
Former occupation - Clerk
Employer - Prudential Assurance Co., Holborn.

Medals - Victory and BWM with RAMC details., Silver War Badge RAMC 1425 (SWB Roll - Badge no B298997 Service 31/8/14 to 12/3/19 RAMC list 1251 to 1500 aged 22y4m at discharge.)
